With all due respect,I think Sifu Leung's recolection is a little
lacking on this subject. I trained with Sifu Leung with the Newport
News group which consisted of myself, Tony Massengill, Glen Moore, Larry
Jones and a guy named Keith, who's last name I do not recall. We all
began training at the upstairs school on S. Great Neck Road in September
of 1979. Our group was traveling from Newport News to Va. Beach 3 - 4
Nights per week.I trained until about May of 1980, when the travel
became too much for me, and my work schedule began to conflict with the
training. Tony, Glen and Larry continued their training until early
1982, when a Hampton, VA. Wing Chun school was opened on Mercury Blvd.
This school was taught primarily by Tony Massengill and ocasionally by
Glen Moore. I resumed training in Wing Chun at this time. The school was
connected with Sifu Leung's Wing Chun school, and our Hampton Group
trained in Hampton, 3 days per week, and met at the school and
car-pooled to the Va. Beach school, which had moved to Holland Plazza,
the other 2 nights to train with Sifu Leung. This was approx. 3 years
after Tony Massengill had begun training with Sifu Leung. Massengill
continued his training under Sifu Leung until Sept. 1982, when he joined
the Newport News Police Dept. At this point due to his work schedule his
training became inconsistant. So I personally can attest to Tony
Massengill being under Sifu Leung for at least 3 years.
